Background
Several
years ago, Neale Donald Walsch began a conversation with God, which later became
a series of books called Conversations with God 1,2 and 3. Later came Friendship
with God and then Communion with God. Many derivative works have also
been created off these five books, such as Moments of Grace, Questions and
Answers, and a number of workbooks. The
premise of these books is that we are all one being. In fact, that we are
“pieces of God”, split up and placed into a relative world to experience
what we are not, so that we might experience that which we are. In effect,
created separate so that we might better understand unity. Created incomplete so
that we might understand our completeness. Created in seemingly unloving
conditions so that we might understand the infinite nature of loving responses. God’s
call is now that we would remember who we are; that we should re-member with
God. The gift and the challenge of this is that we have forgotten who we are so
completely that we are caught in the forgetfulness. Many cannot see the God
inside of them. Others are vaguely aware of God, but do not know how to apply
their divine gifts to every-day life. Many have a personal relationship with
God, but believe that only their particular path is an acceptable way to reach
God. Our intention is to speed up the process of re-membering; to bring everyone closer to God with an awareness that there are an infinite number of paths to God. We hope to increase access and exposure to this thought so that others can determine if it is their truth. While this process is unfolding throughout the world, there is not an active place in the Atlanta area with which to explore, examine and activate these notions in a personal way. Our intention is to lead the way in the development of such a center and give others the opportunity to integrate God completely into body, mind and spirit. Amen.
Vision Statement
The
CWG Center of Atlanta is a spiritually adventurous organization that believes
unreservedly in the concept that we are all one. In promotion of this concept,
we have created a loving space within which people from diverse views can come
together to explore their spirituality. It is a space in which you can live and
share the message of CWG, or related material. The Center environment will
empower you to create your highest and greatest vision about who you really are
and who you choose to be. Values
and Beliefs
Values and
beliefs represent the soul of an organization. These are ours:
We are a nurturing organization. We have respect
and love for everyone. We seek to understand each person’s truth and honor
that truth. But we also accept respectful disagreement – recognizing that
diverse points of view point to the diversity that is God. By allowing
disagreement and talking through it, we are able to better understand ourselves
and to declare who we are.
